Busy times and deadlines PART I

I’m sort of week behind with all my reflection, but I will catch up am sure.

Last week was very interesting, working mostly from home these days I usually go to uni once a week, last week it was Wednesday, and we were up for a surprize.

In VISUAL STUDIES we don’t have Steph anymore??!!!!!!??!?!

VISUAL STUDIES

My weakest link in this term was complete turn upside down with arrival of Luke. Contemporary looking young man who introduce us with easier way to complete our task. NO BOOK – was blessing to my ears. As I mentioned before not as a fact I had to write a book pulls me down, fact that is not an easy task and has to be years of research before even attempt first page, well – that’s my personal opinion. As I was really struggling – hearing another solution was like a celebration.

So, alternative is that we scrap the idea of book, by making it more interesting to us and turn it into a report, with presentation in the end about all this, which is fine with me. Monotone writing was never my straight but talking…. Ahh I can talk for England.

As I already made sort of the progress and record all bibliography I have good grounds for my report. I explored already how abstract paintings come to see the light and do still, up to know. I think I will continue to research into after world war II times ending up with the current contemporary painting analysis.

I need to read the requirements of module more carefully before I start making any changes, but am positive it will be more productive outcome as task set before.

STUDY SKILLS

DSB – discussion. Were we was made aware what exactly is DBS checks and why they required now in most work places.

Disclosure and Barring checks (formerly CRB checks) are searches through criminal records and other sources, including the Police National Computer and they can be very helpful when making a hiring decision, because they can uncover potential warning signs about candidates.

All our independent search has got to go into our other blog, which I did already. I looked in more debt to identify the levels of checks and why they necessary.

I’m was never asked for one, so I don’t have it, but then again, my job rarely involves work with vulnerable people. Retail mostly is dealing with lot of mentally unstable people. :D

FINE ART

It was a busy and productive week upon this subject, snow causing destructions over all UK, actually help me to progress with my work. Having been forcing to shut my Gallery on Sunday I had a whole weekend to make a most of it, so I did.

I manage to make a start on my four previously made canvas. It was two-year-old project, in need for facelift.  I made these canvases when I was joining textiles – working with different materials – making print marks on fabric. Even if I did spent lot of time in the past to making them, they didn’t find right place in my heart and I thought mixed media treatment will do then good.

Initially I wasn’t sure what I’m going to paint – I’m sort of had colours in mind and that’s about it. And then slowly they become four seasons.

It is very odd how somehow painting just takes his own shape and you just fallow making it more into what is meant to be.

The hardest part is now not to overdo and bear in mind my project heading says UNFINISHED.

…to be continue
