Caching up

Hello – it’s been a while, but if I remember right no one reeds it anyway… it’s been busy few weeks including half term. Most of my work as always was down to me, researching, looking, making enquiries – gathering materials and meeting people.

VISUAL STUDIES

My least favourite subject this term. Not because I don’t like idea of a book, but because I have no time to explore it to the core. As I mentioned before book needs very deep research and lots of leg work, brain work etc. I always wanted to write one, but not in such hurry. So, did made some progress, but it is very little and very shallow in my opinion which I could only improve if this would my only assignment.

I’m up to 1930, past WWI and Russian Futurism, but as you know there is way much more to go and progress is very slow and frightening.

I already come to the terms, that I won’t get good mark for it, but there is nothing I can do unless I would have poverty to change day into 36-hour slot.

STUDY SKILLS

No much to report here, I did some entry about Public Liability insurance in my parallel blog as it is very important part of our POP up SHOP experience.
We did find a venue place and it is a requirement that we all hold one. I have one already – if I trade as SUKI Gallery, so I’m going to use that to avoid extra unnecessary costs, which also will help me to promote my business alongside with my uni work.

FINE ART

This is where most of my time goes now. As we found the place where to POP up our SHOP, there is deadline, which is 24th of March. It is in Uttoxeter Town Hall – Indoor produce and craft fair.
So, pressure is on and I’m barely started. I brought some wooden letters and painted them – UNFINISHED – as our main Thame. It’s all good to add to our sales table. I want to make some cards and bookmarks. I primed several canvases and main one. I always find myself working on several pieces, multitasking, but I can’t help it.
Spend a lot on acrylics, different kind but more I use acrylics I understand I like oils better. But all these projects are always so rushed and there is no way oils will speed dry for me.

Some pics of insides what I was doing and do. Will work from home this Thursday, as really there is no point to go as all my work is at home or in gallery. Hopefully I won’t get told off for bad attendance.

I do work on my projects - just at home.:)

It is very hard still as I have no proper studio space. I must share my work with my bedroom, but college not an option, as study we could have we can’t have and rest is just awful spaces with no light whatsoever. So much for university, but you must compensate close to home studies, with no appropriate facilities. That’s why I work from home, its best for everyone.
