Another week gone and more
and more closer to end of my first year, cannot believe it.
I have a confession, this
week was a bit relaxing, as I finished my unfinished pieces and more or less morally
was preparing myself for writing part.
So far so good, everything
under control.
VISUAL
STUDIES
I’m
in process of changing my book to report, last week I attend college only Thursday,
so I miss that now situation is a bit different, there has to be 4000 +/-
words and no presentation, which is a bit sad as I wanted to do it.
At
this point I’m confused, what exactly we need to do, and my plan is to make
some draft and give it in for feedback.
Will
see then if I get some more light on this confusion.
STUDY SKILLS
I won’t get into details how and what I used, but you must
see an idea and texture my artwork sort of followed. I tried to use a variety of
mediums and found objects to make my pieces interesting.
I know from my own experience
I would like to change and add something to may paintings all the time. Like
with these squares. Year ago, they were quite satisfied pieces, this year they
went under a paintbrush and become something else. If no one will desire to buy
them, maybe they will have to change again.
I belive its possible to know which is which??
STUDY SKILLS
We were given to read and find out more about public
liability insurance and as I done that already - as I said is a quite relaxing
week for me.
FINE ART
I have finished my unfinished pieces, there is few add-ons and improvements to
make, but over all its done.
At the beginning I had just an idea of one large painting. I
made up a frame and stretched myself, but I had these small squares left from
last year’s textile assignment, and they were really sitting doing nothing - as
I didn’t think they any way good enough. So, at that point I decided I will add
some small paintings to my large scale one, to make more of my art for pop up
shop.
Four seasons made sense. At the start we sort of thought about
nature theme, like UNFINISHED SPRING – and I did want to create sort of nature,
patterns into my texture, but four seasons just appeared, and it was hard for
me to not fallow this path.
Winter came first. I had my family comments that is barely
unfinished, and they absolutely right – I underestimated how hard for me will
be to not to finish the piece.
I had to admit they are finished pieces and I even framed
two – Winter and Spring. To still comply with my brief, I left other two
without a frame. So, you can still sort of state that as u n f I n I s h e d
work.
I understand why we have been given this assignment – “The Un
finished” – has been taken in entirely new directions by modern society and
artists. It is sort of fashion at the moment, but if you ask me, is any artwork
is really 100% finished???
Who knows? All uni is about learning and developing, making
changes as we go along or stop and move on, to return sometimes after…
So, with this feeling behind it I present you my UNFINISHED
pieces.
WINTER AUTUMN SUMMER
SPRING
There is still big painting awaiting spotlight, but I will talk about it next week.
