Not a very good week for me, I feel
like for me. I’m not sure if that’s a cold or else, but been having a lot of
headache recently which obviously affects my work and a lot.
VISUAL STUDIES – still I’m exploring possibilities
of Glitches and I tell you now, they are endless. I came across this amazing
man from Australia, who creates wood sculptures as they would be distorted digitally:
look at that:

His name is Paul Kaptein - Australian
contemporary artist whose work explores ideas of empty spaces in the present.
For my work, I was thinking maybe make something out of clay
– dry clay as I am disappointed of our 3d room welcoming, so I give up on them.
Seeing this carved wood works makes me think even more of such possibility - to
create something that could be disturbed, but same time still.
Incredible if you think it’s all done in wood. First
glance is so misleading.
More from him you can find here and please do…totally
worth it.
Having some spare time I made some quick photo glitches of
myself, nothing special just to keep theme alive, photography and other digital
media is probably the easiest way to create such effects.
That’s why I am keen to try something completely
different like a mini sculpture or something…will keep you posted on my decisions.

STYDY SKILLS – brought a bit headache upon us, but that’s
fine. We started a new module what will go alongside of our project in FINE
ART. Most writing part will be about it. Things like MARKER RESEARCH, FINANCES etc.
with a main question why are we creating what we are creating and for who.
I will probably need to start some separate sketchbook
just for a plain boring, but in same time necessary stuff. Dead end of that is
just after we go back in January, roll on xmas break.

FINE ART – most clearly had aspects of module, what we
are working on, just I am not sure if I will have enough time to complete all
what I had in mind. As oils dries much longer my experimentation time also
drags out. I have lots of ideas, but lack of time and pressure from other
subjects pulls me down.
So far, my experiment canvas looks like that and its nowhere
near how I am imagining.
I am reusing one of my old canvases as my budget is tight
at the moment and it sort of suits as originally paper background and some
sheep wool from lakes was stick to it. I am crazy for texture and I planning to
add some sand and pencil shavings to see where it all goes and how it may look.
But as I said it is very far from completing as I started to explore different mediums
and techniques binding with oils and this road is as textured as I want my
final piece would be.
